Wolfgang Glowacki, fine arts photographer

Biography of Wolfgang

Wolfgang Glowacki

Wolfgang grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, where his parents instilled in him a love of the bush and natural surroundings. After leaving school in 1993, Wolfgang travelled and worked his way through much of Australia. During this time he pursued his love of rock climbing and caving which brought him even closer to nature and started an interest in capturing the beauty around him.

When Wolfgang's brother brought him a manual SLR camera, photography started to become life. Wolfgang would go out venturing and come back with rolls of unique images that, with a little encouragement from friends and family, lead him into a career as a professional photographer. After moving to Tasmania in 2002, Wolfgang’s photography has evolved into an expression of himself and the environment. Living in one of the last areas of true wilderness in Australia, Wolfgang has been moved to help protect it for future generations to enjoy.

'Photos of nature are like a gift, given to you without anything expected in return, but the beauty of such things compels us to think deeper, appreciate and ultimately stir emotion allowing us to connect with our world. I feel blessed to be able to capture these images and share them with you, also fortunate being allowed the time to reflect and connect with our foundations. After all, at the foundation of everything is nature. Nature is for all of us to enjoy, so stand up for what belongs to everyone and don’t let it be exploited by a few. I hope you enjoy these images and find the same peace and beauty in these photographs that I experienced when I shot them.'
